Children of the Stars

I was predisposed to like this book: Sci-Fi and young adult? Love it! I find that Sci-Fi authors have some interesting ideas about what our future holds from a technological and sociological standpoint. Here we have young people taking on mature roles at a young age in space and then forced to scale that back when their spaceship crash lands on earth. Can they adapt to the High School rules, cliques and sometimes shallow society that is current earth? The prejudice displayed reminds me of Paul Anderson’s book ‘Ghost’. Dayton is the sort that would succeed in any setting, Zara though… She is an interesting character that I would like to know more about. She does not settle into Earth society well. Will she be able to adapt? Will any of them make it back to space? Do they, will they want to? A sequel seems to be in order to answer these and other questions. I would love to learn more about Zara and whether Allyson enters the Space Corps.
