Rubicon Escape

I enjoy post apocalyptic stories. How does civilization as we know it end? Plague? War? Climate catastrophe? How does civilization as the survivors… survive? This is a fast paced classic apocalyptic story with an interesting twist that I look forward to reading about in subsequent books.

John and JT are out 4x4ing on the Rubicon when an EMP occurs knocking out all electronics including those in vehicles. Because John and JT are preppers and ex-military no only does their jeep keep operating (older vehicle with no computer tech) they are prepared for such an event, are not surprised and are able to reach home safely.

We meet other survivors and watch as a new community is developed. Who will be allowed into the safety that Freedom Ranch offers? I like their rules: 1) pull your own weight; 2) don’t be a jerk. Who among use would have the skill necessary to be allowed to join Freedom Ranch? What survival skills do you have? What will happen to those not allowed to join?
